Jesus Torres is the Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Waunakee Area Soccer Club (WASC). He is also the Girls' Varsity Head Coach at the Waunakee Area High School. A native of Venezuela, Jesus was born and raised in South America where he learned his soccer skills at an early age in Sao Paolo, Brazil and Mexico City, Mexico. In 1967 he came to the United States to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Jesus Torres has over 25 years of soccer coaching experience which includes tenures with the Venezuelan Women's National Team and various competitive clubs in the Madison area. Jesus has been with the Waunakee Area Soccer Club since 2000 and has been instrumental in helping the club grow from a small, community-based recreational club to one of the top competitive clubs in the Madison area. WASC fields competitive teams at every level of competitive youth soccer, including: Classic, First Division, Premier and Regional. At the club level, Jesus has coached over 60 current college players including 33 that have gone on to play at the division 1 level. He has coached 4 teams to State Cup championships along with other various competitive tournament championships such as USA Cup, All-American Girls, Cocoa Beach, Libertyville and FC Milwaukee.
